CMC Collective kindly requests your presence at Slip Space’s inaugural exhibition, Three Pigs and a Piñata. Rooted in the notion of storytelling, Three Pigs and a Piñata offers insight into the subjective relationships between objects, stories, and experiences. Drawing from objects left behind in artists’ studios, offices, and shared academic spaces, CMC Collective toys with processes of meaning-making and how we attribute value to inherited heirlooms. In bringing together this accumulation of abandoned artworks, trinkets, tools, ephemera, photographs, dishes, books, and furniture, this exhibition weaves together the secret lives of objects and the stories and people they belong to, considering practices of relational collecting and archive creation.

 The exhibition will transpire from January 30th to February 4th, 2024, and the piñata ceremony will proceed at 7:00 PM on February 4th, 2024. We look forward to your presence.
